Portions do not depend on diameter alone. The calculator uses usable cake volume and a selected serving volume; the result remains an estimate because cutting style affects the final yield.

Standard is a practical starting point; a taller cake usually yields more equal-volume servings from the same footprint.

How to read the result

The model preserves PEK’s existing calibration at an 8 cm cake height and extends it to volume. Usable volume is estimated at about 90% of geometric volume to allow for edges, trimming and practical loss.

How PEKI estimates cake servings

Volume model: usable volume = geometric cake volume × 0.90. For a round cake, geometric volume is π × (diameter ÷ 2)² × finished height.

Serving volume: small 100 cm³, standard 160 cm³, large 200 cm³. The selected serving volume is used consistently in both calculation directions.

Model limit: the result is an expert estimate, not a guaranteed yield. Cutting method, fillings, decoration, support boards and trimming affect the actual number of pieces.
